Information:
The Youth Alliance - The Gambia is a registered charitable
non-governmental youth organisation which was founded founded
on the 31st June 2009 in Banjul. It's main objectives are
to enhance peoples' economic standing through job creation,
to be development focused, to be a respected organisation
among youths and to be associated with national development
programs and communities
YAG aims to offer a means through which young people can contribute
their skills, give their ideas and jointly participate in
decision making, policy issues and championing causes as well
as use the chances presented by commerce, tourism, agriculture,
science and so on to meet their own challenges.
The NGO has arranged and hosted a number of training schemes
on leadership, youth & conflict, peace education, business
enterprise, the environment and other economic, and social
issues.
YAG's organisation is operated by executive members, board
of directors, an advisory board, and a team of volunteers.
Among the last group are a lawyer, gender & education
activist, a businessman, human rights activist, media consultant
sitting on the advisory board and a group of youth social
activists on the executive unit.
