Information:
The Anglican Mission Development Ministries aka AMDM
is the development branch of the Anglican Diocese of
Gambia. The diocese first began its operations in 1855
while the AMDM became a fully registered NGO in Banjul
in 1991 though the church had been participating in
socio-economic programs nationwide.
The AMDM Christian mission is involved in community
projects focused on informal education, capacity training,
crop production, animal husbandry, beekeeping, kindergarten
schools, emergency preparedness and other poverty reduction
measures and community outreach programmes.
Another area of main activity is in providing assistance
to West African refugees
who have arrived in Gambia from the Casamance region,
Liberia, Guinea Bissau, Sierra Leone and other countries.
In this last respect they have acted as the implementing
body for All Africa Conference of Churches (AACC), United
Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR)
and the World Council of Churches (WCC). |
