Background & Biography:
 Lawrence
Akin Toyinbo was born in
Nigeria, Ondo State,
but is a locally based artist living in
Churchill's
Town, Serrekunda, Gambia. After his early fine art education
in his home country he went on to teach arts and crafts
then moved to Gambia in the mid-1990s. He is
married with 3 children.
 
He has now spent 13 years in the country and has organised
art exhibitions in the country for example in in December
2006 at the Senegambia Hotel and many other joint and
solo exhibitions. In 2003 He organised an art exhibition
at the Franco Alliance-Gambienne in Serrekunda.
He works with oil paints on canvas.
